Financial Information for Rent Increase Greater than Annual Allowable Rent Increase Amount (Form O)
Landlords use Form O to apply to increase the rent in a land-lease community (mobile park) by more than the Annual Allowable Rent Increase Amount (AARIA). Landlords also need to complete Form M and Form N.
Use Form O: Financial Information In Support of a Rent Increase Greater Than Annual Allowable Rent Increase Amount to apply to increase the rent in a land-lease community (mobile park) by more than the Annual Allowable Rent Increase Amount (AARIA). Landlords also need to complete Form M and Form N.
Form O can only be submitted along with Form M and Form N. You have to serve all forms at least 7 months before your tenant’s anniversary date or common anniversary date for the land-lease community (mobile park) given on the lease.
Who can use this form
Landlords of land-lease communities (mobile parks) need to use the form to apply to increase the rent by more than the Annual Allowable Rent Increase Amount.
What you need to do
- Complete Form O, Form M and Form N.
- Take your completed Form O, Form N and payment to Access Nova Scotia. Access Nova Scotia completes the top portion of the forms and provides you with a copy for your records and copies to give to your tenants.
- Personally deliver completed Form N and Form M to your tenants or send them by registered mail.
- Once you’ve given the completed forms to your tenants, return to Access Nova Scotia to complete the Affidavit of Services (on Form N).
How long it takes
It should take 1 to 3 months to complete the process. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your application hasn’t been filled in correctly.
