Notice of officers and directors for an incorporated company
Incorporated companies need to file and change the officer or director information with Registry of Joint Stock Companies. You need to notify Registry of Joint Stock Companies of any changes to the directors and officers.
Use the Change Directors/Officers Form to file or change the officer or director information for your incorporated company.
You need to notify Registry of Joint Stock Companies of any changes to the directors and officers within 14 days of the change. You can also update Registry of Joint Stock Companies of changes to the officers or directors during the annual renewal.
Directors and officers
Your company needs to have at least 1 director. Your Articles of Association outline how many directors and officers your company needs to have. The company needs to appoint permanent directors and file a list of permanent directors and officers within 14 days from the date of incorporation.

Information you file with Registry of Joint Stock Companies is available to the public.

You need to submit the form within 14 days of the change.

- Complete the Change Directors/Officers Form online.
- Within 14 days of the change, submit your completed form.
- Registry of Joint Stock Companies updates your records.
How long it takes
It should take 1 to 2 weeks to update your records. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.
Cost
There is no cost to submit the form.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- full name of each director and officer
- civic address (not mailing address) of each director and officer

When you file online you need to create an account or sign in. You also need to be an authorized filer for the business.

Send your completed form by mail. Or drop it off at Registry of Joint Stock Companies or Access Nova Scotia.
