Rental Property Conversion Policy: Residential Tenancies
The Rental Property Conversion Policy (Policy 26) explains that when a landlord is converting a rental property into a condominium or house, they must meet all requirements of the Rental Property Conversion Act. This includes meeting the notification requirements when providing tenants with a Notice to Quit.
This policy describes how a landlord must meet the requirements of the Rental Property Conversion Act if they want to convert their rental unit into a condo, house or other property. This includes properly notifying tenants with a Notice to Quit.
Information includes:
- the affidavit or sworn statement the landlord must provide stating the requirements of the act have been met
- whether an offer to extend the tenancy for 12 months beyond the proposed conversion date was required
- whether any offer to extend the tenancy was accepted or declined
