Public Housing Policy: Residential Tenancies
The Public Housing Policy (Policy 22) explains that public housing follows the Residential Tenancies Act, but it has different rules on subletting, income qualifications and rent increases.
This policy describes the differences in rules for tenants of public housing versus tenants in any other type of rental unit. The rules that are different include rules on subletting, income qualifications and rent increases. The policy also explains that when resolving disputes, residential tenancy officers must take into account any public housing rules included in the lease.
