Authorize a filer: Registry of Lobbyists
You need to be an authorized filer for a lobbyist to file online updates with Registry of Lobbyists.
Use the Authorized Filer Form to confirm someone is authorized to file information on behalf of a lobbyist. You need to file the form with Registry of Lobbyists before an authorized filer can file online renewals or updates.
Who can use this form
You need to use this form to confirm someone is authorized to file information on behalf of an in-house lobbyist (company), in-house lobbyist (organization) or consultant lobbyist.
What you need to do
- Complete the Authorized Filer Form online.
- Submit your completed form.
How long it takes
It should take 2 to 4 days to set up an authorized filer for a lobbyist. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.
Cost
There is no cost to submit the form.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- name of lobbyist
- registration number for the lobbyist
- lobbyist or senior officer available to sign the form
Online
When you file online you need to create an account or sign in. You also need to upload any supporting documents in PDF format, including a letter of authorization. You can use the Notice to the Registry of Lobbyists Authorized Filer Form (PDF) for the letter of authorization. Or use the form as an example and prepare your own letter of authorization. If you prepare your own, you need to include all details outlined on the form.
