Apply to re-enter casinos after voluntary exclusion (banning yourself)
Apply for access to re-enter Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax and Sydney after voluntary exclusion (banning yourself). You can apply if you’re on the voluntary exclusion list. You need to complete your term of exclusion before you apply.
Use the Voluntary Self-exclusion Reinstatement Form if you’ve already completed the Voluntary Self-exclusion Form and want to be allowed back into Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax and Sydney.
Eligibility
You can apply if you’re on the voluntary exclusion list.
If you had an exclusion term when you banned yourself, you can only apply for reinstatement once your exclusion term is complete.

If you banned yourself before 21 January 2020, the earliest you can apply for reinstatement is 6 months from the start of your ban.
How to apply
- Review the application form.
- Visit the Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division or 1 of the casinos and tell them you want to cancel the voluntary exclusion (banning yourself) so you can be allowed back in the casinos.
- The Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division or casino reviews the Voluntary Self-exclusion Reinstatement Form with you to make sure you understand it.
- Complete and sign the Voluntary Self-exclusion Reinstatement Form stating that you have read and understand the information.
- The Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel and Tobacco Division or casino confirms the date it removes your name from the voluntary exclusion list. You can then re-enter the casinos.
- Keep a copy of the form for your records.
How long it takes
You can re-enter the casinos 1 week after completing the reinstatement process.
Cost
There is no cost to apply to re-enter casinos after a voluntary ban.
