Right now, you don’t need to register your decision to opt out if you don’t want to donate your organs and tissues.

If you don’t want to donate your organs and tissues when the legislation changes on 18 January 2021, you can opt out online before the changes take effect. Your opt-out decision takes effect on 18 January 2021, and you receive a new Health Card in January that shows you don’t consent to donate organs and tissues.

Make sure you have your Health Card number.

Technical requirement

You can’t access the opt out form if you’re outside Canada or your computer’s IP address is outside Canada. If you or your IP address isn’t in the country, you need to contact MSI Registration and Enquiry to register to not be an organ or tissue donor (opt out).
