Certificate of the Engineer: condominium development (Form 21)

Engineers use Form 21 to certify with the Registrar of Condominiums that the condominium buildings have been built substantially based on the structural plans. The engineer of the condominium building needs to use the form once the condominium is built.

What you need to do

  1. Send your draft structural plans to the Registrar of Condominiums for review to ensure they comply with the Condominium Act and regulations.
  2. Schedule a site visit.
  3. If required, revise the structural plans and submit again.
  4. If the Registrar of Condominiums approves the plans, send 4 copies of the plans with all pages signed by you (the engineer).
  5. Complete the form.
  6. Send your completed form by mail or email. Or visit the Registrar of Condominiums.

How long it takes

It should take 1 to 2 months to get the certificate. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.

Cost

There is no cost to submit the form.

  • name and number of the condominium corporation
  • signature of engineer
