Insurance Adjuster Licence
Apply for an Insurance Adjuster Licence. You need the licence to settle an insurance loss or claim.
An adjuster works on behalf of the insured or the insurer to settle an insurance loss or claim. Independent adjusters and adjusting agencies must be licensed. In-house or staff adjusters are not required to be licensed.
In Nova Scotia adjuster licences for individuals are issued in accordance with a Level Licensing System. Each level requires that certain Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) courses, as specified in the regulations, be successfully completed; as the level of licence increases, the degree of responsibility of the licence holder also increases.
