Nancy MacLellan

Nancy MacLellan was appointed Deputy Minister of the Department of Advanced Education in August 2021.

Biography

Nancy has worked for the Government of Nova Scotia since 1997 in a number of departments, including the Office of Service Nova Scotia, Department of Justice and Department of Community Services.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dalhousie University, a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University and an Institute of Corporate Directors, Director (ICD.D) designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Deputy Minister, Department of Advanced Education

The Deputy Minister of the Department of Advanced Education provides strategic and operational direction to guide the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • leading the department and advancing its mandate
  • making sure the department is aligned with government priorities
  • providing leadership to the department’s senior team
  • meeting annual budget targets
  • providing advice to the minister and Government of Nova Scotia
  • developing strong relationships with stakeholders
